THINGS YOU MUST KNOW IN AWS (Amazon Web Service)

In this, a modern and digital world, almost everything is connected to the cloud directly or indirectly. The one said that Cloud Computing will virtually replace traditional data centers within 3-4 years.

There are some top cloud storages that we are using nowadays in some way or another.

  • AWS – Amazon Web Services
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Google Cloud

Also, there are some newcomers cloud companies –

  • DigitalOcean
  • Vultr
  • Linode

Explore your knowledge about Cloud Computing here - What is Cloud Computing?

In this article, we'll see particular, which topics, features, and technology you have to know if you want to become an expert in AWS?

Why AWS?

AWS is one of the finest and easiest clouds that deliver on-demand compute power, database storage, application, and other IT resources through its cloud services platform via the Internet with the pricing of the pay-as-you-go.

Currently, AWS has 150 unique ongoing services. Maybe while you reading this article, the count increasing.

Advantages

  • Easy to use
  • Flexible
  • Cost-effective
  • Reliable
  • Scalable and high-performance
  • Secure

Learn each above in detail here – AWS Benefits

Product of AWS

AWS provides a wide range of global cloud-based computing products that make tasks easier and help organizations for lower IT costs, speed, and scale.

  • Application Integration
  • AR & VR
  • Blockchain
  • Database
  • Game Tech
  • Internet of Things (IoT)
  • Machine Learning
  • Mobile
  • Quantum Technologies
  • Robotics
  • Security
  • Storage

AWS Lambda

AWS Lambda lets you run your code without any administration, provisioning, and managing server. You just need to upload your code and lets lambda take care of everything required to run and scale your code with high availability. We also can set a trigger function to automatically trigger activities from other Amazon services or web/mobile activities.

The code we run on Amazon Lambda is called Lambda Function.

Amazon EC2 (Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud)

Amazon EC2 is one of the most used services. EC2 designed to make web-scale cloud computing easier for developers. It enables us to create an Amazon Machine Image (AMI), which includes an operating system, its volume, apps, and configurations. That AMI is loaded to the Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) at which point users can launch virtual machines as needed.

Amazon Lightsail

Amazon Lightsail is the simplest way to get started with AWS. This service is very useful for new companies, students, start-ups companies, who need a simple Virtual Private Server (VPS) solutions. It’s intended to help you at a small start, and then scale as you grow.

You’ll find detail information here – Amazon Lightsail

AWS Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)

VPC gives a place/box/frame where we can put all our applications. Without our permissions nothings goes out of it, nothing comes into it. To connect your applications to the Internet, so that everyone can use it, you have to configure Internet GateWay (IGW), route table, and associate route table with the public subnet.

This is how VPC connect with the internet –

Amazon Elastic Load Balancer (ELB)

If you studied well AWS, then probably you know that each region has at least two availability zones. So, if there is a problem with one data center or cannot handle a high amount of traffic, then we can use the other one.

Amazon Elastic Load Balancer or ELB automatically distributes incoming application request traffic across multiple targets. Like- Amazon EC2, containers, IP addresses, etc.

ELB handles three types of load balancer:

  1. Application Load Balancer: Handle HTTP and HTTPS
  2. Network Load Balancer: Handle TCP
  3. Classic Load Balancer: Operate both request level and connection level

Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS)

EBS is one type of data storage that not part of Amazon EC2 storage. It initializes and creates before instance launch and able to use it with EC2 in the AWS cloud.

There are two types of data storage –

  1. Object Level Storage: S3 (Simple Storage Service)
  2. Block Level Storage: EC2 instance

EBS allows you to –

+ Dynamically increase capacity

+ Tune performance

+ Change the type of live volume

Without downtime and performance impact.

Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service)

Amazon S3 is a high-speed, scalable, web-based storage service designed for online process and backup of data on the AWS cloud. It was designed with minimal features and make it easier to computing for developers. S3 stores data as an object within a resource called a bucket. It has an unlimited storage capacity that stored up to 5 TB in size of data.

Amazon EFS (Elastic File System)

Amazon EFS is a file system that offers Linux based workloads for Implementation of Amazon Web Service cloud. EFS is a simple, scalable, and elastic file system. It designed to measure petabytes without interrupting applications. It allows us to access one file with thousands of EC2 simultaneously.

Amazon Cloud Watch

It used to monitoring services for AWS cloud resources and the applications that you run on Amazon Web Service.

We can use it for –

  • Collect and track metrics
  • Collect and monitor log files
  • To set alarm
  • Automatically react to changes

Amazon Auto Scaling

Auto-scaling helps you to maintain app availability, and it allows you to dynamically scale your Amazon EC2 instance capacity up or down automatically according to the condition you define.
