Coronavirus cases, and Dream 11 IPL. It seems that people got crazy more
than usual to both IPL series conduced in the lockdown (IPL 2020 and IPL
2021).
Everyone is participating in this happy moment, and one of the top education institutes in India also does not want to miss it. Yes, right, the Indian Institute of Technology Madras arrange the challenge for students, educators, and also professionals.

Who schedules the event?
The BSc department of Programming and Data Science prsents
the Cricket Hackathon'21 for everyone who is crazy for Cricket, especially
for IPL, and wants to learn something this summer with fun. There are just
three steps, Participant -> Predict -> Win.
Who can Participant?
The challenge by the Bsc Degree Program of IIT Madras divided this contest in two ways so any person with the Coding Background and from non-coding background both can participants. So don't worry if you're not from the Computer or IT field.
Pre-requisites
If you're from Coding background and wanted to join this contest as a Programmer then you should know the basic python programming, data and analyzing skills, and intermediate Mathematical knowledge.
If you do not know to code or don't want to participate as a programmer you simply have to predict the IPL matched score, and will eligible to get an exclusive T-shirt by IIT Madras.
You can participate individually or in a team of 4 members in this competition.
What you have to do in the contest?
Programming Category
All participants who register in this contest will have to submit their prediction algorithms while can predict the upcoming T20 match's score after the end of 6 overs in all the innings.
This coding competition has been organized to enhance new learners and to explore their interest in data science and analytics.
You'll be given a complete database of ball-by-ball last 1600 in total T20 innings.
For learners, they also will conduct the sessions and video documentation to learn data science and analytics for absolutely free by IIT Madras.
As an output, you have to give a single integer number, which represents the total score after 6th over (After the powerplay).
Non Programming Category
If you can understand cricket very well, have the knowledge of each team and player then IIT Madras has something for you too.
This type of person has to select the option of "Intuition" for the question, "I'm planning to predict the score using -" while filling the registration form.
Every day they have to login into the system and predict the score for the 6 overs, and get a chance to win a T-shirt from IIT Madras.
Pricing and Rewards
All teams or individual participants with minimal error in a predicted score of each match (around 50 innings) will be announced as a winner of this IIT Madras Cricket Hackathon'21.
In the case of the same position, the earliest submission by the team and a minor number of codes will be used as a factor of selecting winners.

The top 5 teams/individuals will get a chance t win a cash prize worth
1 Lakh INR with the Appreciation Certificate.
- Individual/Teams in the rank between 6 to 10 will get a chance to win 25,000 INR with the Appreciation Certificate.
- Individual/Teams in the rank between 11 to 50 will get a chance to win 5,000 INR with the Appreciation Certificate.
- Every participant who secures the "Leaderboard of the day" will get a T-shirt from IIT Madras.
